Ned graduated from the University of Virginia in 1989 with a BS in accounting from the McIntire Business School. He started his career as a staff auditor for now defunct Arthur Andersen and Company with a concentration in Real Estate clientele. In 1991, he then went to work for an Andersen client as contracts manager for a large Head Start organization on the East Coast. In 1994, Ned moved back into accounting and real estate at Realty Investment Company (RIC), the personal investment arm for Choice Hotels International and Manor Care founder, Stuart Bainum, Sr. Ned left Realty Investment Company to found Corporate Apartment Specialists, Inc. (CAS) in December 1995. Today, CAS operates 150 fully furnished corporate apartments in the Metropolitan Washington, DC area. CAS had annual revenues of $5.1 million in 2014. Ned and his wife Tania hold ownership in seven Value Place extended stay hotels in South Carolina and Georgia. Ned and Tania also own several single-family homes in Virginia, North Carolina, and New Jersey. Ned is a Past President of the Corporate Housing Providers Association (CHPA). CHPA is the sole National Association serving the Corporate Housing Industry in the United States. Ned is also a CPA and a CCHP (Certified Corporate Housing Professional).
