Corporate Apartment Specialists, Inc., (CAS) has entered into a partnership with Flexcar, a car-sharing company operating a fleet of 120 vehicles parked at metro stations throughout the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. The program will officially start May 10, 2004.

Car-sharing, or self-service cars rentable by the hour, is a new urban concept aimed at reducing the number of automobiles on urban streets, while encouraging the use of public transportation.

Under the program, CAS residents are eligible for free Flexcar membership and one free hour of Flexcar use per month. Additional hours would be the responsibility of CAS residents. Charges (if any) will appear on customers’ monthly invoices.

Twelve of CAS’ 25 locations are within two blocks of a Flexcar. Further, most CAS customers residing in city locations do not have a vehicle. These two factors make car-sharing an attractive transportation option for CAS residents.
