Ned Scharpf
Ned graduated from the University of Virginia in 1989 with a BS in accounting from the McIntire Business School. He started his career as a staff auditor for now defunct Arthur Andersen and Company with a concentration in Real Estate clientele. In 1991, he then went to work for an Andersen client as contracts manager for a large Head Start organization on the East Coast. In 1994, Ned moved back into accounting and real estate at Realty Investment Company (RIC), the personal investment arm for Choice Hotels International and Manor Care founder, Stuart Bainum, Sr. Ned left Realty Investment Company to found Corporate Apartment Specialists, Inc. (CAS) in December, 1995. Today, CAS operates 150 fully furnished corporate apartments in the Metropolitan Washington, DC area. CAS had annual revenues of $4.5 million in 2007. Ned and his wife Tania hold ownership in six Value Place extended stay hotels in South Carolina and Georgia. Ned and Tania also own several single-family homes in Virginia and New Jersey and a 16-unit apartment building (unfurnished) on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.
Ned is the 2008 President of the Corporate Housing Providers Association (CHPA). CHPA is the sole National Association serving the Corporate Housing Industry in the United States. Ned is also a CPA and is also a CCHP (Certified Corporate Housing Professional)
Tania Odabashian
Tania graduated from the University of Virginia in 1989 with a BS in Commerce with a concentration in Accounting from the McIntire Business School. She started her career as a staff accountant for Price Waterhouse (currently PriceWaterhouseCoopers). She specialized in financial services firms. She ultimately switched to the Management Consulting practice at Price Waterhouse focusing on Business Process Reenginering. In 1995, she went to work for MCI (currently Verizon) as a project manager with the Business Services organization. Her primary focus was on implementation of effecting billing and receivable processes and systems associated with new product rollouts. In 1999, Tania joined Corporate Apartment Specialists, Inc.(CAS) as majority owner. Today, CAS operates 150 fully furnished corporate apartments in the Metropolitan Washington, DC area. CAS had annual revenues of $4.5 million in 2007. Tania and her partner also hold ownership in six Value Place extended stay hotels in South Carolina and Georgia. In addition, they own several single-family homes in Virginia and New Jersey and a 16-unit apartment building (unfurnished) on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.
Tania passed the CPA exam in 1991 in Pennsylvania. She is a Certified Corporate Housing Professional and is an active member in the Corporate Housing Providers Association. Tania is also a CPA and is also a CCHP (Certified Corporate Housing Professional)
